In an effort to capture the latest course, faculty, and student enrollment data, D2L/Brighstpace course shell creation for Spring 2016 will not begin until November 24, 2015 (moved up from the initial estimated 2 weeks before Day 1 of the semester).
Sandbox Courses
In the mean time, however, if you wish to start working on your upcoming courses, you can request a sandbox D2L shell in which to start building your course(s). To request a sandbox (or more) for your Spring 2015 course(s), please email me with the following information for each course needed:
- Sandbox: Course your will be teaching in Spring 2015 (prefix, number, title). For example, CTCM 7010 Applied Traditional Chinese Medicine.
- Enrollment: The username of each person you want enrolled in the sandbox course as an instructor (or other role). For example: glaws – instructor.
- Copy: If desired, the course you wish to have imported into your sandbox (year, semester, prefix, number, title, section). For example, 2015-FA-CTCM-7010-Applied-TCM-Web.
- Copy Instructions: Any special instructions for the course copy (e.g., delete all old news items, create 7 modules for me to personalize, create my gradebook as specified in my syllabus, etc.).
Actual Spring 2015 Courses
Please note that the sandbox will not automatically get transferred to your Spring 2015 course(s). You will need to copy it into your Spring 2015 course — or you are welcome to ask me to do it for you. To do your own copying, consider the instructions available in Service Now. Be sure to start the copy process in the Spring 2016 course (rather than in your past course).
