Universal Design

Closely related with accessibility is the concept of universal design of instruction (UDI) – in our context, this refers to creating information/instruction in such as way as to enable individuals of all abilities to take full advantage of the learning opportunity.

University of Washington offers a good overview UDI which also includes guiding principles and examples.
